The U.R.A.T. ( Unione Ristoratori Albergatori del Trasimeno) is a tourism consortium that came about in 1983 when a small group of businesses, which now amounts to 130, operating in the eight municipalities surrounding the lake and representing all types of accommodation categories, joined hands. The Consortium, in collaboration with local administrations, prepares and creates promotional activities for the entire territory in order to promote the tourism brand of both Umbria and the Trasimeno Lake area.
The promotional initiatives include a wide variety of yearly events, the publication of a catalogue, both printed and on-line that serve as an advertising and hospitality vehicle, a presentation of the territory via the website www.lagotrasimeno.net, participation in tourism trade fairs both in Italy and abroad, and the organisation of other initiatives aimed at institutional promotion by the Consortium.
