Castiglione del Lago, right on Lake Trasimeno, is just a 10 min drive away, and in half an hour you can be in the famous Val d'Orcia, with its magnificent landscapes of fields of grain and majestic cypress trees, not to mention such medieval towns as Pienza and Montalcino. To add to the experience, the 1731m high extinct volcano, Mount Amiata, is never far from sight.
Poggio Antico is run by Piero Cesarini, who was raised there. Nowadays it is owned by Maastricht-born Anna Peeters, who knows the area like a native. She speaks Italian, Dutch, German and English and, together with Piero and the rest of the team, will make sure that your stay at Poggio Antico is a truly memorable one.
Poggio Antico is a small agriturismo with five apartments (for 2, 4 and 8-10 guests) and a swimming pool. Every apartment has a kitchen, a private terrace, and the spacious garden has a variety of sitting areas with wide views spanning over the lake and surrounding nature.
